For over 20 years we are offering highly specialized legal service in intellectual property rights. We serve our clients in trademark, competition, copyright, antitrust and data privacy law. Next to advising our clients in drafting contracts and supporting contract negotiations we represent them in court as well as in arbitration proceedings. We have expansive experiences with the relevant German regional and higher regional courts but also with the European Courts of Justice. We represent clients in national as well as in international arbitration proceedings.
SELTING attorneys have a qualified department of paralegals for monitoring brands and domains. Because of the high level of specialization we are able to offer fixed price packages for our services relating to brands and domains.
Locations
It is our goal to offer our clients our services from one single source in the whole German speaking area. That is possible through our offices in Cologne and Lugano in consideration of international agreements and national legislations.
Membership
For keeping and improving the quality of our legal services we maintain an interchange in national and international associations. Since the start of the law firm we are an active member of the German-American Lawyers Association (DAJV), the German Association for Intellectual Property Law and Copyright Law (GRUR), the International Bar Association (IBA) and the Association Internationale pour la Protection de la propriété Intellectuelle (AIPPI).
For being able to offer the client a worldwide service the law firm is a member in the international lawyers network ADVOC. Ingo Selting is the chairman of the committee for intellectual property of ADVOC and thereby responsible for the international worldwide brand and domain protection.
Pro Bono
SELTING attorneys feel committed to the social thought of pro bono activities of law firms. Pro bono reffers to unpaid legal activities for the purpose of the commonweal.
Following this thought we among other things supported the youth of the Cologne american football club “Cologne Crocodiles” after the club’s insolvency by searching for a new club and checking and defining the legal framework conditions. That led the youth of the Cologne Crocodiles to the club Lövenich/Widdersdorf where they found a new home. In the following we provided support in founding the new Cologne Cocodiles. Meanwhile the Cologne Crocodiles again became the first football club in Cologne with successful seniors and also very successful juniors.
